Untitled Suitcase Performance (Emotional Response to the City), 2006
This performance piece was an exploration of emotions and feelings evoked by Cairo's infrastructure. The imagery attmpts to evoke particular emotions as experienced within the city, as well as portray a narrative of an interaction with void/abandoned space. While the imagery was projected on the wall, I was enclosed in a suitcase with a microphone. When the viewer watched the projection, they could also hear my heavy breathing from within the suitcase.
